I just got my orange birdsnest three days ago and just noticed that it came with a small patch of GHA on one of the branches, my tank is GHA free and dont want this to spread or irritate my coral.

How do i get it off, or do i just hope my inverts will eat it?

ohh.. well cant you use like a tooth pick and just kinda scrape it off carefully?
( idk what this is called but i use it to take some of the cyano it was build up in one of my corals.. it has this little tube with a pouch thingy that you press then let go and it absorbs water) ill post a pic so you see what im talking about.

    Hi Puffer chick

if the GHA is growing on bare skeleton of the coral, then fragging that piece of with some snub nosed pliers is a good idea IMO

if the GHA is growing over the live coral, basically a piece has drifted onto it and become tangled on it, then removal to a jug of tank water and a new baby soft toothbrush is the method I have used to remove GHA from living coral tissue or rocks that living corals are attached to
if you do it in a jug or bucket outside of the tank, you can then discard the water that has the GHA particles in

ohh ok ive seen those before
i think it might be growing over the live coral, i want to try fragging as the birdsnest looks like it would be easy to learn on.

But i will probably have to do the second option, but it will have to wait until one or two more days, im out of saltwater and wont have any to replenish what was lost in my tank, unless its ok to replenish with freshwater. But if not, it will have to wait for another day or two until i can go to the lfs to get more water and hope it doesnt spread
