how to get rid of hair algae in days? weeks

    i have a 20 gal with rose anemone tyree rainbow stylopora pulsing xenia 500 efflo and some clowns andd i have a 12 inch sand bed and about 20 - 25 pounds of live rock and a rio nano protien skimmer and mangrove 2 trees and i have 4 turbos and 1 astrea and 3 margaritia

    Thats a huge sand bed....like half the tank or more.

    It would be helpful to us (to help you) if we could get some photos of your tank in order to better ID the algae issues you are having.

    Look, some people like the appearance of a VERY deep substrate- don't be a sandist. I for one prefer sand to fish, corals, and other inhabitants.

    But in all seriousness, your best bet at beating algae is patience. I've found that it is typically a longer battle, especially depending on the type of algae you have. I had GHA in my aquapod that I COULD NOT get rid of and diatoms in my 30g that I took care of in less than a week.

    Just don't give up you will eventually win, it just takes time and good maintenance.
