So I've had my 38g Nuvo set up since Saturday the 4th now and my salinity is still awfully low. I'm doing a reef tank and need about 35 and it's stll at 25ish. Is this normal? If so, how long does it take to go up? I'm hoping to start my real cycle Friday with a Damsel and hardy frags. Will it be ready by then? My Nitrite and Nitrate are ready, I'm just waiting on this and also making sure those don't spike...
I'm also gonna put a couple day by day photos.

    In order: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3(today Feb.6)

If there is nothing in the tank you can take it to where it needs to be, if not do it slowly over a few days. What are you using to measure the salinity?

Coralife deep six Hydrometer. It's made to test salinity and gravity. What raises the salinity? The only chemical I was told to use was MicroBacter7.

No chemical raises it. Evaporation will cause it to raise or topping off with mixed water

Your saltmix raises your salinity. If it is really as low as you say you need to take some water out and add more salt mixed water with a higher salinity to the tank. You should do some more reading and research before you start adding stuff. I dont think your ready yet, you'll also need some rock in there. Alive or base will work.

Okay cool. I've been talking to a mon-fri guy at one of the marine fish stores for weeks and started just a few days ago with my first no-freshwater tank. I also don't mix the water myself, I buy their water they mix for me. And I'm adding the alive rock in a little bit. Probably shoudl've mentioned that.

Makes sense, my freshwater tanks do this, too with readings before cycles. I can't believe I didn't think of that.. And thanks for the link!
