I bought to used 250w hamilton technologies reflectors without any kind of hangign kit. Hamilton HQI Reefstar Lighting System . Does anyone have an idea where I can get such a thing/are therer any ideas on how I could build my own hanging setup...preferably adjustable? There are 2 holes on each side of the fixtures. Thank you ;D

my reef star came with 2 rolls of small diameter cable with 2 crimps. all you do is make 1 big loop for each side, run it in 1 hole and out the other on same side of light fixture and crimp. do that for both sides(2 loops)
i use plant hanging brackets mounted on the wall, but you could use the screw in hooks mounted in the ceiling (if you can screw it in some wood)
as far as adjustability goes, you can wrap the cable around the hook to raise only. hope this helps. i know it sounds like a real plain jane hanging kit, but thats what came with my new light (about 5 years ago)

Thanks a lot for the reply that should really help :) Could you possibly post a picture of the setup you described? That would be SUPER helpful

before i put my tank in the wall, i had my light in a custom open top canopy with a fan on each side. the way the brackets are made on the hamilton reef star, one side rest on top of support the other side is on the bottom (held up with screws). you might like that better than hanging it with cables ;D;D;D
