Considering some LED's to hang from my ceiling over a 225g

    Maybe 2 x 24" Orphek PR-125W lights.

My Question is how do I access the tank for maintenance and cleaning with the lights hanging over it.

looking for hardware solutions or other ideas.

I'm using these: Y-shaped Hanging Kit

They're quite nifty because they are adjustable at the fitting which transitions from the single cable from the ceiling to the "Y" portion.

Gotcha, is this what you use? With these what would the process be for cleaning the tank?

Correct, these are what I use.

My lights are hung high enough I don't need to raise them to get into the tank, but If you did, it would simply be a matter of holding the slack end of the cable and sliding the fitting up until the lights were up and out of the way. When you push down on the little button at the top of them, they will release the cable and let you slide them back down.

your also using those driller toggels from HD..how have they been holding up..im kinda nervous about using them just in sheet rock as there is no studs in the right place over the tank..also how or whats the best way to center(for lack of a better word) the hanging kit main line.. thanks..

If you go with Orphek or any other LED module that size you are going to need atleast 3 of them if you run them long ways, if you do them perpendicular you are going to need about 4-5.

Correct, I am using a toggle of sorts. Been holding up just fine, no issue at all.

Use a string with a weight attached to it to "guide" you to where you holes need to be in the ceiling.

Called a plumb bob if you search for one.

I have been thinking of a nice way to raise/lower lights for acclimation, and maintenance. I have been thinking about doing a small motor and track with a raise/lower switch. I had previously seen it on a Vivid Aquariums build. Should be pretty easy, and not too costly.
