How to keep nitrates at zero in a nano tank ???

    How to keep nitrates at zero in a nano tank ???
    30 gallon
    light stock
    skimmer
    no sump
    no live rocks
    no mechanical filteration

    No live rock!!!
    You have NO Live rock AND no Filtration???!

    Unless you're doing daily water changes, you can't do it.

    You need some type of mechanical and biological (and chemical) filtration.
    You have nitrate issues BECAUSE you don't have live rock.

    ... this explains a lot of your other posts...

    You should have 20 - 35 pounds of live rock in that tank.

    In a few weeks I will be upgrading to BioPellets on my 29 BioCube.

    But you def need LR & Sand to help keep your levels controlled.

    Doesn't the bacteria within live rock turn amonia into nitrite then nitrate? How would he have nitrates?

    Those ammonia fixers no doubt colonized SOMETHING in his tank. I'd guess his real estate for bacterial growth is minimal though.
