and then kalk pasting where the mushroom was attached. you can actually leave quite a bit of stump if you kalk paste it.

be careful about cutting the shroom up though... little bits that get away can attach and regrow in even worst spots than this one

just enough to cover it or the spot it was attached to entirely.

I have used it a zillion times (slight exaggeration). it hardens in the water and makes like a shell. when you first do it, you will see little kalk bits go everywhere, so I recommend shutting down the system and letting this stuff just sink. then use a turkey baster on any "crumbs" that fell on a coral underneath and then good to go.

the dried kalk shells, just FYI, they seems to purple over really fast. I have some pics of it done in my tank in my build thread if you feel like checking it out...

you can jump to this page to see some
    http://www.3reef.com/forums/show-of...hil-55-gallon-thread-56156-13.html#post706613

but if you go through all the pages, you'll start noticing those white spots... anthelia, gsp, xenia... ugh.

    and a few more here

but you see this white spot along the substrate on that rock? That's killing some GSP. that spot is like 1 hour old in this pic.

mushrooms will kill hydronyphora trust me...
get some torch coral or in the family to contain them or power up the halides and get fast growing sps to grow over and keep them in the shade. They should prefer the shade to 400 watts
some zooanthids may help contain them but they can spread fast too

I found out the hard way that "Aiptasia x" kills them pretty effectively if you're sloppy. I suppose if you used it purposefully...

I tried that on them already. It did nothing to them. I hit them hard with it too. Nothing worked. I am going to scrape.... and cut and remove and kalk.
