Ok doesn't sound like your too bad off. If your reading nitrite using strips I suggest getting a liquid test. I also suggest taking a sample to your lfs tomorrow to have it tested so you can know for sure where you stand.

One thing to consider that may be the problem behind all of this is feeding. how much and how often are you feeding.

Chaeto is an ocean weed basically. Most people grow it in a separate tank calleda refugium as its not all that pretty in most peoples eye. The benefit is it sucks up nutrients including nitrates that algae needs to live and thus algae has a harder time living.

What size tank do you have?

i do use a liquid test but the thing is the color bar that tells you the level has gradually increasing scale, which is hard to exactly place your levels, i feed every day but very minimal it is how much they eat in 1 minute.ans for tank size it is a 54 gallon corner

Im a bit stumped. It sounds like a cycle. I would go ahead and do a small water change and have your water tested tomorrow to check against your own results.

a Nitrate test kit would be ideal - get liquid test kit and not strips

I also noticed your alkalinity is at 0. For coral you want it in between 8 and 12. I would pick up some buffer that stabilizes ph at 8.3 or 8.4. What kind of corals do you have or are looking at getting?

One more thing you should look at is calcium supplement and a calcium test.
