how to lower nitrate levels

    In most cases, a good water change will do, but in your case, you have too many fish.

    i dont think that ? will ever have one single answer. if it does let me know! water changes dilute the problem but not solve. the are alot of proven methods to lower nitrate, you need to find one that best suits your tank, im in the same boat, my nitrate arent high 10-15ppm but i would like 0-5.

    If you have a sump then its simple a coil denitrater will fix the problem I have never had an issue with NO3 in all the yrs I have used these .. If you do not have a sump then you have to force feed the water through the coil with a pump rather then siphon and they work 100% .. Thats the short and long of it. Now it can be made complicated to rid the tank of NO3's and many do.. :) If you need one ? P/M me.
