When I researched btas, I found a whole lot of places saying that most lose their bubbles in captivity over time.

Actually, they don't lose their bubbles. You can't lose the ability to do something when it is your choice to do it.

It depends on how much light they get and if they are hungry. They can also just chose not to bubble their tentacles up. Water quality and flow are also factors in the "bubbles". After large feedings my BTA will have bubbles and also when the lights first come on.

I would just leave it alone and let it be. It is an animal and will do what it wants when it wants and there is nothing you can do about it.

IME, Flow is a large factor with these.

MIne is a Rose which I assume is in the bubble family and has never ever shown bubbles only the long extended tentacles. It is well feed and hosted with a Gold Banded Maroon ClownFish. I would like to see the bubbles sometimes but not even at first light or after a good feeding. So I have no answer just the same question. If ya figure out how to get it bubbly let me in on it. I would also like to see this.
