I just recently did this. But i went with three 400W metal halides. I just did a search on craigslist for "halide" (the high/low fixtures). They can be wired for 120v or 240v. They include the ballast and socket. I'm not sure about t5's though, you might be able to score a ballast ony, then get a retrofit kit maybe?.?.

whats the dimensions of your tank ? don't rush into any thing to fast Buddy lighting is the single largest rip off in this hobby .. P/M me if you need any help with a set up or materials to Bud your own I have lots of good used stuff and new also M/H and T5 and VHo's LOL 700.00 will buy a lot of light.. For a 150 you just have too know what is what and how many bells and whistles you want to buy and not need or use .

Tangster do you have anything (light wise) to help accent my 150 tall. Currently I am running 2x250w 15k XM bulbs, but would like to add more, maybe two or three VHo bulbs or what ever you think. I'm just trying to get a little more diversity in the color, trying to make this tank a nice looking reef.

    Thanks,
    Dustin
