Ok, so the LED is 3" tall and I have a 6" gap between my fish tank and my cabinets. It has mounting hooks on top that are brass eyelets. Any suggestions on how to make a bracket so that I could easily remove the light fixture from the top if I need to mess around in the tank? Also I can't have it attached to the bottom of the cabinets(my wife would kill me).

IMO if you can't mount anything to the cabinets then you will have to make something. Either a hood to mount the LED inside of, or a bracket that sits on the counter behind the tank with an 'L' piece that rises up and extends over the top of the tank so you have something to hang them from. No real easy way if you can't mount to cabinet. Easiest way IMO would be to just get some hooks from Lowes that screw into the cabinet and then hang wire from the hook to the eyes on the light fixture. The hooks will be small and won't leave a large hole in the bottom of the cabinet. Nothing a little wood putty wouldn't fill in if you ever decide to take them down.

Well though I'd post pictures of what I cam up with. Grated it's not finished yet as I plan on spray painting it black (black spray paint is ok if exposed to salt water?).

P.S. This picture is with both blue and white on low. Turning it up all the way is super bright...I really need to see other peoples setup's to see how bright I need to set it. Also Should I set the blue LED on a separate timer to come on 30 minutes before the white and stay on 30 minutes after the while to be like sunrise/sunset?
