    How to prepare active carbon ?
    i am washing it a lot but it still produce black pigment.. what to do and how to wash ??

    I rinse it in rodi for afew min.it runs clear eventually

    Reverse osmosis deionized water. Basically extremely pure water. I think most RODI filters (machines reefers use to make RODI water) reject 97 or 98% of the tap water you put into it. Check out bulk reef supply and their RODI page sorry I'd give you the link but I'm on an iPad.

    i washed it wwith normal tap water but it still producing black stuff

    Rinsing under tap is not a good idea. After all there are lots of impurities in tap water that your carbon will absorb. Clogging up your new carbon with these impurities will make it less effective and it will not last as long before becoming saturated.;)
