My iodine level is at 0.09, which is likely because of the heavy dosing of purple up that I have been doing for the past month with very good results. I am cutting down on the purple up, but in the mean time how to quickly lower the iodine in the tank without doing a water change?

Run a quality carbon actively like in a canister filter or in a fluidized bed filter and change the carbon often.

Carbon is graded by a number of characteristics and one of those characteristics is the Iodine Number (or how effectively it removes Iodine)

My Ca level is 520 which is where I want it. Magnesium is at 1500. So all that's good. I do run Chemipure. That's not doing the trick.

I like that level myself I get good growth at the higher ends of the levels.

I would agree with inwall as you will want to change carbon offten like depending on how much you use every other day. or so!

20-30% water change unless you have corals that live off of iodine

Since you caught it (a little late) at .09 and everything is o.k. I take it, and since you are backing off on the Purple up, let it alone and it will fall as your livestock (you don't mention what you have) uses it. When using Purple up, now you know to test at least once a week and alternate between it and something else. I take it you wanted more Coraline growth? If just to keep Calk at 500 ppm I use Sea Lab # 28, it keeps calc at 500 ppm and PH stabilized to 8.4.
