    Hello Friends

I have 48" Coralife fixture with 2 65watt 10K and 2 65watt actinic..recently one of 10K and actinic broke and I have ordered for replacement for them. I was wondering how to replace bulbs, I don't see how to take bulbs out from fixtures. do I need to unscrew them?

Bulbs are straight pin compacts, here's link for them. Also which bulbs are better, just 10000K or 420nm/10000K. Currently I have FO tank, planning to get some soft corals soon.

Go to your link and hit "View Larger". See that indentation on the plastic that holds the pins on one side and the glass bulbs on the other side? Use your fingernail or small screwdriver and pry up the tab from the light fixture that fits into that indentation on the bulb. Then the bulb will pop right out.

    Get the 420nm/10,000k

Thanks Inwall. however looks like I haven't put my words right. I am not sure how to take bulb out from fixture. fixture is fully enclosed with glass and top of cover no option to open it. All I see is, some screws on each very end side of fixture, wondering if i need to unscrew them to open glass? I can take picture and upload.

They have a lot of different models. If there is no way for the clear cover to be removed, you will have to unscrew the endcap, slide the cover out, then do the procedure I said above.

Also, now that I've read your post while not talking on the phone at the same time, if you have 2 actinic bulbs and 2 daylight bulbs in your system and the white one is out, don't use the 50/50 bulb like I stated above. Replace it with the 10,000k bulb
