how to shrink and anemone??

    my anemone is getting to big. i am setting up a 350 but it will prob be like 6 months before its up and running so i need to shrink him because hes starting to get my corals. i have stoped feeding him for about 3 months now and it seems to get even bigger when my MH's come on. any ideas on what i can do? thanks

    You dont shrink them you give them to someone with a larger tank or take them to the store and trade em off for a smaller one...DO NOT feed them so often and they will not grow out the tank so rapidly....

    You dont cut an anemone i half....You smoke that whacky way to much....

    man thats awesome i didnt know you could do that. i thought you were joking at first. im going to have to try it. i just have to get my enemone to release off the rock its been on for a year now.

    well i would be scared to try it, but hey u never know. though Actinarians/Anemones are noted for "powers of regeneration", reproduction via scission, this usually calls for part of the basal disc being involved

    It's good that he's so big. That means he's healthy! I would not go cutting up an anemone, let him grow and he'll split when he's ready.
