In the display tank or your refugium

Yes so I do not have my refugium up and running yet, and I can not have it blocking the light from floating in my DT. Maybe just clear bowl full of tank water beside the light? I will have my refugium up and running in about a week or so.

That might work in the interim. Just change the water in the bulb with water from the tank when you do water changes.

you can freeze it or dry it as well if that doesn't work for you. just treat it like a fresh vegetable. it tends to stick when drying if it is dried under any heat over say 95. I would room temp air dry it for say 20 minutes or so and then freeze it in a bag and then you can break some off to feed later. I have heard that dessicants work well to preserve it, but that is up to you, I would research it first.

Ulva can go awhile without light, it also doesn't need to be submerged, you can put it in say a bioball type system where water ran over it and then on to the sump. You can pack a lot in a smaller space that way, as ulva gets really big in water. Just make sure to not let the flow go to low if you keep it in a less than ideal type of situation.

I put a small rock in the middle of mine and just let it sink to the bottom of my DT, it stays against the back glass that way
