I was wondering if my rock is healthy and wanted outside opinions. What is the best way to tell? Is there a certain color or appearance that let's you know the difference? I recently added the MH and VHO T5's and my rock has a fine Green algae on the surface. My water and fish are clean and clear. Is this normal?

NO smell, but also No color. I was expecting and hoping for the bright Purple and Pink colors I see on other tanks pic posts. I think something is a miss, just don't know what?????

it takes time and calcium and good stable water pramas also coralline algae is the pink and purples , you have to have coralline in ur tank first before u get the pinks and etc. get a small piece of premium lr and scratch the purple ,if ur pramas are in check u'll have a bunch of gods humor i mean pretty Coralline algae ,its a gift and a cruse

lol and thats no lie, it takes time for you rock to become mature and have coraline on it. Its taken mine round 9 months to get a nice red coraline going,i have spots of the purple but mostly dominant in red.
