    Thank you Clonefarmer appreciate the help during the learning curve....LOL

    So what would be a normal reading range for my L/R tank? I'm trying to determine what if any chems i need to add for coraline alge propogation.

    Nh3/Nh4 0
    Ph 8.2
    Nitrate 0
    Ca2+ 540

    dkh? not sure of the definition? as in carbonate hardness?

    You don't need any chems for coralline. You do have to keep up with Calc and dkh though. Keep nitrate and phosphate as close to 0 as possible. Also seed some coralline. The more colors the better. Different color coralline grows in different spots in your tank.

    The KH test measures both KH and dkh. KH is measured as ppm and dkh as degrees.
    example:
    10 degrees dkh = 179 ppm KH
    11 degrees dkh = 196.9 ppm KH
