how to use a volt meter to measure current?

    how do you guys use a volt meter to check any charge in your tank?

    Do you put both prongs in the water or do you ground one out? And do you measure in ohms or ac

    Volts AC......Positive probe in tank, Negative on outlet Ground.

    alright easy enough, thanks a lot! I have heard someone measuring with ohms before... ever heard of this?

    I havn't actually. It would show if you have an electrical path, but you can figure that out by measuring the voltage. It is shows any, you have a path.

    thank you! need to go pick up a grounding probe now... the new K4 is putting out some stray current :/

    If you pinpoint the source of the current, try to put the grounding probe as close to the source as possible.

    Even better yet, if you found the source of the stray voltage, replace the device, it will just get worse. I've replaced at least 3 hydrokorilia pumps over the last year due to stray voltage....

    I picked up 2x K1's a month ago to run at the back of my rock work, 1 is already broken. I'm starting to think they suck.
