i was wondering how i should go about feeding phytoplankton. i recently got a mandrin goby. i have a lot of pods in my fuge now, but want to make sure i keep the numbers up.

its a 90 gallon DT, fuge section of my sump is 10-12 gallons, reverse photoperiod with cheato.

i bought some of the kent marine phytoplex. 2 to 15 microns

my initial thought is to add around a cap full to the DT and another to the fuge, once a week after my small water change.

    any thoughts??

I think adding to the fuge will be the most beneficial because the pod population will most likely be greater in there. Not sure about any benefit in the DT due to predation from the Mandarin. If you have powder algae on the glass then you have a good phyto population. The more often you need to clean the glass the better the population.

i have a fuge, i just want to make sure the reproduce as much as possible.

i was talking about adding the phyto directly to the DT, not more pods.

Phytoplankton, most people seem to call in powder algae because that's what it looks like when you wipe it off of the glass.

Yeah, I understood you wanted to put it in both, I am just not sure how much it will help the pods in the DT.

ok, i understand what your saying. the pods in the DT are pretty much just food at that point, so no use trying to feed them.

as far was what i am putting into the fuge, doe that sound like the right amount??? is it the right type??? nannocloropsis, tetraselmis, isochrysis????
