Dont forget that after a while, your return pipes and pumps will lose some of their power due to dirt and just general waste build up. I usually figure in about 10-20% loss of flow

I think the problem is coming from the chiller...
water comes from my tank into my wet dry filter... into the sump where it's pumped to my coralife 1/6hp and back to the tank...

I put the mag 9 into the sump to push it faster to the chiller... which worked...
but it's still not the same power i had before the chiller....
the algae has surfaced since the chiller arrived about a month ago...
although i don't know if lights or phosphates all contributed...
    what should i do...
send the chiller water back to the sump on the right side and put the mag pump there to immediately return it to the tank? I can use an u tube to bring it there...
i was just concerned about heat in the sump... (counterproductive when using a chiller) but my return flow would be greatly increased

Why do u need a chiller? I have 608 watts over my 90, t5 and mh and have a fan on low about 3 feet from the tank.

    well...
it was the evaporation that was killing me when I used a fan...
what temp. do you keep your tank at?
I was aiming at 79 with the chiller...
    I currently use 216watts of t5 lighting...
and will be adding 2 110 watt vho bulbs on an icecap ballast.

You think I should disconnect the chiller...
and try going back from sump directly to return flow in tank?

Or should I try the other options first?

Since u already invested in a chiller, i would try other options first. I cant see how it would cause algae outbreaks....increasing your flow and buying a phosban reactor isnt a bad investment any way u look at it. How long was the tank up b4 the chiller was added? Maybe its just a coincedence it started after the addition of the chiller.

I think the only thing the chiller could have contributed other than cooling the water is reduced your flow.

Do you have a p04 reactor, I saw that you were using a phosphate removal media.
