    Hey I bought a used tank that obviously had an attack of algae. I was wondering how to get dried old dead algae off the magna float, and these weird white tip of pen sized things off of it. Soaking it does nothing. grrr:confused:

    Soak it in a 50/50 vinegar/water mixture then scrub like the dickens :)

    Along with what Amcarrig mentioned, those white things(spirorbid worms) should be able to be removed by using an old credit card or comporable scraping tool-making sure that you don't scratch the glass/acrylic tank, however!
