Oh, I'm well aware, unfortunately. I have a degree in marine sciences. Too several coral ecology, oceanography and climatology classes.

At second thought, I'm confident my issue is nutrients. Tank has been sitting 79-83 for about a year now. Onlyvchange I made was adding gfo and increasing lighting intensity on my chaeto. Nutrient depleted now.

I still think I should drop my temp a bit.

Not that any of us may have any, but as an example, the corals that come from that area in Australia that essentially gets nearly dry for hours in low tide has to have some fairly big temp swings, daily.

This is a great thread, and as often the case, could be more than one cause/etiology/culprit for corals doing various things.

FWIW- my reef tank is now at about 77-78ish, and may drop a degree or two this winter.

I have the four fan model on my Fusion20, and it works fantastic! You can see it on my thread.

The amount of evaporation has tripled too. Good ole' evaporative cooling. Atlast my tank is sitting at 78 now instead of 84.
