    buying high quality is really the only way to be sure what you get is good. man i fought that concept for so long in my time in the hobby, eventually everyone will fall into that logic after enough failures, so skip the failures and save some money.

    Probably because Current is on the lower end with Coralife.

    According to Hagen, the Glo fixture which houses two bulbs inside one reflector results in a 20% reduction in light. Something to keep in mind when thinking about reflectors. There are other factors such as reflector quality and bulb quality which also greatly affects light. Individual reflectors with crappy bulbs are no better (maybe worst) than single reflector and good bulbs. The light reduction shortens bulb life and reduces light efficiency but It's not like you can't keep a reef without single reflectors.

    +1.....look at reefgeek.com to compare prices between fixtures. They do have ATI and TEK on their website. TEKs are a great middle of the road fixture. UVL, Giesemann and ATI bulbs are but a few of the high quality bulbs out there.
