OK Adam here is the deal with the Titan Trigger. Very aggressive fish but rare and can be expensive so if you get a cheap price you may consider it but be forwarned that this fish will disarrange your rockscape as it loves to dig into the rocks. Now you can't change the make up of these fish. I would just say
A: Do not have more than one trigger in a 125 gal tank.
B: Don't tell me your not going to put your hands in the tank, PLEEEASE
C: If you want to have a predator tank, fine, just read up on these fish.
I feel you have a perception of fishkeeping may be muddled by sensation. Here is info on the titan trigger.

anyone with input/advice/ info on the situation with the triggers and tankmates? any experiences or comments about the titan trigger? What other types of triggers would work in the tank. K+ marlinman by the way

I said only one trigger because some of them attack your hand in the water. I was at the fish store yesterday and the clerk put his hand over a tank that had a Clown Trigger and the fish nearly jumped out of the tank after him. The teeth on him were scary! What about a blue jaw trigger or something. I had a clown trigger and a huma huma trigger and I was petrofied not to mentioned the mess I made with salt water everywhere.

OK, trigger tankmates; tangs, groupers, puffers, lionfish, wrasses(harlequin tusk), large angels, parrot fish, Mono's, porkfish etc. That's all I can think of right now.

ya i like the aggression of the triggers for some reason but i cant think of many reasons why i would need to put my hand in the tank. so whats the deal with the titan as far as is it too big or anything else like that. Since im hard headed and will probably do 2 triggers, which 2 would you suggest? also what else could go with 2 triggers, puffer as far as which fish and how many. thanks for your help

I gave you a list of tankmates. A Miniatis Grouper would work and he's got some nice color to him. A nice tang like a sohol, clown, unicorn or a purple or yellow tang etc. A puffer fish would go well. An Emporer Angel or Annularis Angel that is fairly grown and shows strong would give you beauty. Whatever you do try to make the tang your last entry as they are tough to any fish that looks like them or eats veggies. I don't know anything about eels or lionfish because they scare me. I think your angel and tang choice would be key to how your tank appears. A Harlequin Tusk is an awesome wrasse and one of my favorite fish. A dragon wrasse is a trip to watch.
As far as triggers go, that's going to be your call. They get along ok together. I like a blue jaw trigger when available. A crosshatch trigger or pink tail trigger are good choice. Just make sure your rockscape is solid and not too high. These fish like to swim across the tank all day. I have a reef and I give my fish room to swim.:cheesy:

thanks for the info. ya most of the fish you suggested were fish i have been thinking about but didnt know about size issue or anything. My lfs just recently had a bluejaw trigger and pink tail but sold them but now they got a harlequin tusk. im thinking maybe rock till probably half way up just so the triggers can have a cave to latch on to when they just want to hang out or sleep.
