Adam, listen to this thread and read. Compatibility and which fish goes in first and last is vital to success.

i think i will be doing all meat eaters because it might be too hard for the other less agressive fish to get food. Does that sound accurate? Also what other trigger would be good with a humu between a niger and bursa? This is basically the list im thinking
    -Humu Trigger
    -Niger Trigger
    -Dogface Puffer
    -Snowflake Eel
Thats it so far. Does anyone have an opinion on adding a vol. lion into the mix? also is my statement above about herb eaters make sense or should they do fine? If so then i would like to put in a tang. I just saw that eels arent compatable with any smaller fish besides small angels so i dont know about that. Any help with this would be great but i have mostely narrowed it to a predator tank.

Tangs eat so don't worry about them. When you put the food in get out of the way. I have a passive tank compared to what your planning, my Hippo and Sohol tang try to take a nip at my fingers because they want first dibs on the food. It's hard to put flake food in without using your fingers. Frozen cubes I put in a brine shrimp net and run water through it until they are thawed out (this also takes out the phosphates). I've had the hippo jump out of the water and grab the net with his teeth. Purple tangs are smaller tangs and tough as nails. They do not like new fish that are added to the tank that eat veggies.

Agreed. Tangs are the cows of the sea. Mine will eat basicly anything I throw in the tank... Nori, Krill, Brine, Mysis, Flakes, Pellets, Gel Based forumlas, Blood worms, Formula 1, Formula 2, lol... shall I go on? LOL Always as well the 1st to eat in my tank.

The puffer has me jealous, I want a midnight puffer. ugh.. I decided the reef and invert route though.

Probably a tang from the Zebrasoma side of the tang family. They tend to be a bit more hardier then most of the other tangs. Id suggest a naso but long run the tanks to small for it.

Nice, thats a unique tank size! A sailfin would be fine for a few years in that size tank. If you got it around the 2-4 inch size.
