Hey Adam there is nothing etched in stone when it comes to certain fish around coral. Any angel might nip at certain corals and you'll find that out in time. Fish are funny when they are hungry. Any big fish can start eating corals when they are hungry.
In the wild fish will act differently than when being cooped up in smaller quarters. I have read at this website about fish compatibility it's very interesting reading. Saltwater Fish: Marine Aquarium Fish for Saltwater Home Aquariums

true, well that said that triggers wont nip corals but might eat the inverts. I may take my chances with a mushroom or something..what corals are good at repelling fish from eating them?

I'm just gonna put it out here....

I have never seen a walrus, kangaroo, polar bear OR baby whale eat coral, I consider them reef safe.

If you don't think they're right for your tank that's your prerogative.

    :p

you could probably fit the polar bear and kangaroo in a 20g, a baby whale needs a 55g tho. The walrus is small, just part of the clean up crew.

I just saw a video here on 3reef and a guy has a Regal Angel in his tank and he says it's one of the more reef friendly angels out there so maybe that might work for you. He has a 75 gal tank with a lesser amount of rock to make it more open for bigger fish. Check it out.
