So I have been on here reading and asking tons of questions for my 29 gallon tank that I was going to make a reef tank. Well my friend decides he's all done with saltwater tanks as he is giving me his 72 gallon tank with stand, filter and power heads, 200 gallons of salt water mix and live rock for 150 bucks. all I need is a light fixture that is ideal for reef and coral. Now I am such a beginner at this but i wanted to know peoples idea's and opinions on how they would stock a tank like this.

    - So please ideas of different coral/reef and live stock.
    - Equipment ideas: such as sump size and components in the sump and filtration system.
    - lighting fixture
    - Power heads and how many to have
    - and anything else I am missing and ideas. Thanks guys.

I will post images and videos as I go along. I am so excited I can't wait til this Friday when I get it.

You can hook up the RO system wherever, as long as there is water coming out. I purchased one about 2 months ago and my water pressure here in Spain is a nightmare... still it takes about 4 hours to fill a 2 Gallon bottle. I would always recommend it. It's definitely worth it.
When it comes to stocking.... first cycle the tank for at least a month and then slowly add your lifestock.... just to be safe!

Btw. if you intend to keep corals you should go with a T5 lighting system.

You can install one anywhere you have access to cold water pipe and drain pipe.Kitchen sink, laundry room, even garage or basement.Doing this would be a huge plus when starting a new larger system, you're going to be using much more water and don't want to be buying and lugging it home or using tap water that could cause alot of problems.

I plan getting a T5 lighting fixture. I had seen a fairly priced t5ho 6x54w lighting fixture on ebay. Not too sure what a good standard size lighting would be. But I hear atleast 216w for a tank my size. And I totally plan on atleast waiting a month for I do anything. I kinda just want to hit the drawing board here get some ideas and see where to take it from here. I want to have a nice smooth setup as much as possible lol

what if there is no access to cold water/sink drain? I mean saying my bedroom in my apartment is nowhere near my bathroom nor kitchen. How would an ro/di system be possible then?
