I got 2 clownfish a couple weeks ago. One was slightly larger then the other, and I havent had any problems. Lately The Larger one has been picking on the smaller one, Not alot nor has it been a problem. During the day they stay together mostly, but then kinda go do their own thing, But then they sleep together at night.

My question is, How do you know when they are pairing off? And how do you know when they are finally a pair:)

the female is always the larger one but she is also the more dominate one that's why she pick on the male. it just depends on how aggressive the female. i think the fact that she is letting him stick around her shows there bonded hoe old are they. it can take a long time before the lay eggs and how big are they

From what I understand, that's what it's about. Making sure he knows his place.

I agree. They will be fine. What is true for us humans, is true for the Clown fish, the female of the species is always trying to dominate the male.;D
