just got done stacking live rock for the first time, and i have mixed feelings about how it looks. mainly i'm looking to keep a lion and a zebra eel (and a few others), but i'm not sure if i left enough space for the lion. the eel has a huge cave under the pile on the left. what really confused me was i had alot of really big flat pieces and i wasn't really sure where to start.

sorry about the crappy pics, i did my best with the cell phone

it looks good over all i usually like to make a couple of rock structures in my tanks too, im not a big fan of the two rocks stickign straight up on the right and the substrate as it seems kinda chunky is it cc or sand?

this is part of the fun ill. 1st placements will never be what you want. step back , and look what you dont like and rearrange it. then repeat til you get what you wqnt, and dont forget the most important part. be the rock, be the rock. lol. good luck you will get it lookin awesome.

its an aragonite sand bed, looks like i'm leaning more towards the rock wall that comes towards the front of the tank at either end. i cant see having a couple 12" fish and a 4' eel any other way.

with a predator tank, if your going to have a Lion fish?
plenty of open space is the best "real estate" you can have

with 2 rocky islands at either end for the eels

you get the best of both worlds in a 125

exactly what i was thinking steve . . . i ended up with this.

left side with a cove in the upper rockwork and a large and low eel cave

right side, just alot more "real estate" with a rock wall and a couple fake corals.
