well shoot, since we're on the subject of damsels, i was at the LFS yesterday, and they have what the guy called a damsel... but this isn't like any i've ever seen... its about 4 inches, and superfat (not fat, but a naturally thick body, wide and tall)... it was black, with a thick vertical white stripe close to the back end, and there were 4 fluorescent blue stripes covering its face ( kind of joining at the mouth, forming somewhat of an "X") and going towards the back...any ID's on this? and since it seems that i'll have a damsel dominant tank, would it be ok to add?

nevermind on the ID! i found it (checked wetwebmedia, in the damsel section, and its the very first picture!)...WWM gave the scientific name, Neoglyphidodon oxyodon, but their common name is wrong... they say its a jewel damsel, but all i can find on them is some ugly brown with white spots.... the common name for that scientific name is "bluestreak damsel"... its still a pretty fish!

maybe i should collect all my information before telling about them! common names are bluestreak damsel, blue velvet damsel, javanese, etc... they have the pretty blue stripes as juveniles, but when they grow to an adult, they're solid black, and if i understand correctly, even more hell-bent than a typical damsel!
