That skimmer will bring your 12 gallon tank up to a 13 gallon total capacity system.
A skimmer rated at 110 gallons might be overkill for a 12 gal tank.

Oh, ok. Well that changes everything. 55 gal vs 12 gal, lol.
I don't have personal experience with that skimmer.
I use the Coralife 125 ss and it works good for me in my 55.

Im not sure id roll the dice on getting that skimmer. I believe current made the fission skimmer and it was complete garbage. I dunno how much u have to spend but since the skimmer is your life support and a crucial piece of your set up id look to save a few extra dollars and get something thats gonna actually perform. I have 2 suggestions, both based on personal experience....and i too bought them cause of price/quality.

    Euro-Reef

AquaC Urchin and Urchin Pro in-sump skimmers

Id look into those, i am currently running the euro reef rs135 on my 90 and love it. Its 2 models higher than the rs80. Mine skimmed the left over chacoal dust out of my system in a hour of turning it on.

current makes some pretty horrid skimmers. If it were me I would look into the octopus needle wheel line. They are a little more expensive but are gonna work well for you in the long run.

Aquarium Protein Skimmers: Coralife Super Skimmer Needle Wheel Protein Skimmer

I have that one on my 58g and I love it, good economical needlewheel skimmer doesnt make alot of noise and keeps the water crystal clear

I'm also a huge fan of the ASM skimmers, their basically a euro-reef knock off using a cheaper acrylic base for the tubes and the exact pumps that euro-reef does

I'm using the 125g model of the coralife skimmer on the 58 btw, it's in a 20g sump
