    Im surprised i see so many coralife skimmer recommondations on here. Im not knocking it or anything just seems like there are so many better choices out there to trust such a crucial task to.

    I agree luv. Im' an octopus fan. That's the way i would roll. They are about the same price and IME (I currently have both) they can out skim a CSS any day.

    I agree that the asm is a great skimmer but way overpriced.

    Less than 1/2 the $ of a euro-reef for basically the same and some say better performance so it's all a matter of theory, really the coralife works on the same principales as a needlewheel, not quite as efficient and isn't quite a fine tunable but all in all it does a great job, esspecially for the $

    an ASM G1 would work fine on a 55g can find those for about $225 or you can look into a G1X if you can find one little more $ but a bit more performance
