HTC Incredible (my new phone)

If any of you are on verizon, they just released the HTC incredible. I'm not very technically savvy but I will say that this is the "beastliest" phone I have ever had the pleasure of putting my hands on.....wow. I will post some info on it later as soon as I get used to it.

 

I think im going to hold off until flash 10 for android comes out in October, so you said it fees beefy, as in strong?

 

How beefy is the monthly price tag on the data and text messaging plan required to access all those lovely features?

 

How's battery life? Does it have all those stupid social networking apps, and if so are you able to remove / delete them?

 

beefy as in hella fast. With it's 1.0 ghz snapdragon processor, I am yet to run into anything that bogs it down as far as speed goes.

The data plan is 29.99 and my texting plan is 10.00. that's it.... Not a whole lot. There is so much you can do with this phone. For example, we (my wife daughter and I) were intrested in Geocaching. They actually have an app for that. The application tells you where all of the caches are and navigates you to them. Very cool. Something else I have found that is cool is "Pandora Mobile." If you do not know what pandora is, it is a free music service where you go in, enter a band name, and it will play music that shares the same musical qualities as the band you entered.

Battery life is the only downfall. It is horrible. I look at it this way. The phone is faster and more powerful than any computer in my house. Battery life is a small price to pay but yes it really does suck.

 

Are you using 486's? It only has a 1ghz processor. Great for a phone, granted, but 1ghz PC chips were discontinued years ago. Glad you like your phone, but I need a phone I can actually use. My phone is useless without a battery, no matter how awesome it is for the short period of time it can run. I use 4-5,000+ minutes per month on my cell. I think they need to focus on great features and performance as well as battery life, so the new "incredible" gadget can be usable without being tied to a cord.

I've been looking in to this phone to replace my BB Storm. I'll be looking forward to your evaluation!

 

It kills the "storm". My wife has the storm and it absolutely smokes it. More apps, easier to use, the touch screen is far beyond superior. I recieed the phone on friday and it is yet to freeze up on me like her storm does on a regular basis. I honestly don't think you could go wrong with this phone. I was having a hard time choosing between the Motorola droid and the htc. With double the RAM and almost double the processor speed, I'm glad I chose the "incredible"

 

Lol I was going to say the same. Yes its a cool phone, but man you have some slow Pc's.

Edit: let me follow that up with how bad I want one. But no verizon for me. They screwed me on billing so bad I'll never go back.

 

Bought mine yesterday, they didn't have it in stock so there shipping it to me. I messed with it and many other phones in the store and it smoked anything that you could compare it too. I cant wait to get it!
