You won't be disappointed.....it is a great device. Imo it is worth it just for music and navigation. I use it in my car for Pandora. Never have to deal with crappy.radio stations.

Yeah I was messing around with pandora in the store. Is that a monthly subscription? I think I would enjoy it!

I've got the moto droid and really like it, android 2.1 is great and pandora doesn't have a subscription fee, supposedly there is a sirius-xm app coming out for android also

I currently have the Samsung Delve. I like it for the most part. The internet is kind of slow : (There's something wrong when your phone's internet is faster than any home PC. lol ;)) Occasionally it will freeze up while texting, aside from that I have had no problems. The battery has never died on me. It has "nuTie" - a music player app. I can go online and upload music to it for free. There also a way, I don't know how, to add your iTunes music directly to the phone's music player. It is a separate one. Unfortunately, it is being fazed out this month... lol. I'm not sure what they are replacing it with, probably an updated, newer version. I want the motorola Droid :)

$0. Every app available for Android can be installed from a computer, no data plan required. The only ones that won't work are ones that need an active internet connection, in which case you can go to any provider and get approximately the same rate for an unlimited data plan. The good thing about the data plans, with Android, is that the phones are all compatible with Skype. That means you can get an unlimited data plan, or be near WiFi, and make Skype calls. It's cheaper than minutes to buy Skype minutes.

There isn't a feature other than "text messaging" or "multimedia messaging" that requires a text plan.

You can buy any phone without signing a contract for these services.

pandora is free. That is what is so cool about it. It kills xm or anything like that though because you can choose the music you listen too. For example, I can go to the search box, type in metallica, and it will play music with the same musical traits as metallica. It is an awesome free service.

you are absolutely right. The bad thing though is that most apps will require a connection. I personally think this phone would be pointless without the web but that's just me.

You can no longer buy a smart phone from Verizon without having to buy the data plan. When I asked them why, they told me that it was to protect their customers from accidentally racking up huge internet connection fees. I called them Socialists when I found this little bit of information out

I love me some gadgets but have gone from a smart phone to a regular messaging phone, mainly because I'm always in front of a computer so I don't need access from my phone as well.

Awesome, I will definitely be using that a lot. Now if the phone would just get here lol...I'm not patient when it comes to things I've already paid for that aren't yet in my possession lol.

I have the same phone, they are coming out with an extended 3500 battery that will give you about 2-3 hours of additional heavy use. Of course it will stick out a little over stock but very worth it! I have used the iphone, blackberry's, and the Droid and this is the best phone yet. It is very very fast!
