What kind of water are you using since you're not using RO water?

Food and Lighting are the main causes. (assuming that you are using RO/DI water)

My tank had some minor algae problems but ever since i was missing a chromis my algae has been growing pretty fast. I looked everywhere for it.

I have been doing 30% water change every week hoping to offset anything thats dead.

Just need to feed less and cut down the lights a bit.

You can try a UV filter and see it if it helps.

i buy the water, the local fish store sells 5 gallons of cleaned water, they r/o it. I have a "Corallife aqualife Pro Metal Halide Aquarium Light Fixture" it has one 150 watt 10k hqi metal halide lamp and two 65watt 03 actinic compact florescent lamps. I did consider buying a lawnmower but the ones i saw around here were much to weak to be moved to a different tank.

All lawnmower blenny's don't eat GHA. Mine has not eaten ANY of it, I've even trimmed it so it's not long. He does not care about it. :(
