im so pissed. as i was turning the corner around my acrylic tank while using a magfloat, somehow a snail got under it, swiped it across the WHOLE FRONT OF MY TANK, and now there is a huge scratch on the inside. I want to kill this snail right now.

    What can i do???

How far down is the scratch, the best way to get rid of scratches is very labor intensive..lots of wetsanding, and polishing with finishing compounds. Good luck

Steve! you're awful! boiling water. (I say with a smirk)
That looks like a good product, I put it on my favorites.

We all do stupid things anthos, if you use this product, I'd be interested to know how it worked.

Good luck, and be thankful none of your critters died. Sometimes our stupid mistakes do more damage than scratched glass.:)

I would ttry that product first it seems to have great reviews. and I know a lot of people with acrylic that will not use mag floats for that reason since acrylic scratches so easily

My 5 yo son wrote his name in 8" letters on the front of my 30gal. I know how you feel, every time you see that scratch it just bugs and irks.

At least you can drop a snail in boiling water.;)

Made me pretty mad at first but I'm well over it, the finer, unscratched things in life will wait till the kids move out. It's just a fish tank and life goes on.

oh. i got more good news. so i look in my tank before bed last night (while the lights are off), only to notice a huge pile of various snails/hermit crabs/bristleworms chewing on my Sri Lanka Chromis. That was my first fish when my tank was the one in my avatar picture. He has survived algae blooms/diatoms/cycling/tank transfers and everything. I have no clue why he died. I have had another algae bloom recently. But i am thinking maybe he got stung by my condylactis and the CuC got to him.

    lets see to count now:

Dead: Six line wrasse, ocellaris clown, sailfin blenny, coral banded shrimp, sri lanka chromis.

Alive: all corals, blood fire shrimp...

This hobby is very nerve recking. ARGHH
