id like to know how big of a skimmer is required for a 50,000 GAL tank :)

i picture something like a computer from the 50's taking up 3 floors in an office building

You really don't need a skimmer, it's freshwater. It's a bit bigger than my bedroom.

LFS here in tulsa has a 2k gallon acrylic tank with a steel stand, for $65,000 he'll deliver it to your house here in town

it's 8'x8'x4' freaking massive, his store is pretty impressive but also kind of ghetto
he has a 500g acrylic FW tank, 250g LPS display tank and 4 110g custom SPS tanks

Awww. :( I was expecting way better from a 50,000g. lol That semi-circle tank in the Netherlands is B.A. though. I want it. :) There's even a bar to sit and eat while watching the fish swim by. That's awesome. :D

A local here has a 12,000G shark tank. Built it, then built the house.

Never seen it, the LFS guys say it's kinda so-so, just sharks and jacks, no reef.

When i grow up I plan to build in a 20,000+ reef ... I mean, when I win the lottery a few million on a nice reef tank would be way better than buying matching his-and-hers Bugati Veyrons, right?

maybe if I win big enough I'll have both *shrug*

....for now I can only tell my dad I'm tuning his atrium into a 100,000+ gallon tank. he thinks I'm kidding. I might be.

correction: ~320,000 gallon atrium. 45' long, 25' deep, 36' high.

I've been thinking the same thing for awhile. An outdoor one would be hard because of rain, but a glass house pool would be sweet!
