I knew there was stuff in my tank that I never wanted to see but This is crazy! I found this thing under a piece of my liverock tonight while checking the tank in the dark. I thought it was a dead shrimp or fish so I dove in. Apparently it was anchored deep inside the rock I pulled him out anyways... Turned out to be 6-8 inches long GROSS! It was completly covered in sand, but I could only clean a littlebit off as you can see in the pictures. Remember this thing is pretty gross to handle. He's in a breeding net till I get an ID.

    Thanks for any help!

Giant flatworm. There was a thread about one eating snails recently.

At least, that's what I think it is from the pic.

Flatworms don't build tubes like that and flatworms are....well, they're flat! This isn't.

If you let it move around a bit it should drop the sand. Once it does take another pic. It will be easier to figure out what it is at point.

I'm gonna say it's some type of feather duster. Just looking at the tube.

Tube anemones make tubes like this that have very fiber like casings that hold onto sand.

There isn't really a tube it just feels like Sand stuck to the two sides of the worm... Last night the two sides closed up to cover the super soft top and bottom to form what looked like a tube. It doesn't move very quick at all. Almost reminded me of a starfish leg at first.
