Our large turbo snails in our fish only tank kept flipping over and missing. Well, we just caught are huma trigger attacking and eating them. So, do you know what I can use as a clean-up crew that won't get eaten?

Mag float and a scrubber brush ;) Like the others said, the triggers eat inverts. Its just what they do.

There are reef safe triggers, but huma huma's are definitely not reef safe and love to slurp snails.

I have heard triggers will not eat sea cucumbers.

Thanks for all the advice, we have two tanks both are 150 gallons. This one we have aggressive fish in but I never thought he would go after the large snails.

Sorry... I guess I could be wrong, but are you referring to a Humu*humu trigger?

It's a semantic difference I guess, when it comes to common names.... but I grew up in Hawaii and so I guess it's just a pride thing....

The full name would be humu*humu*nuku*nuku*apuaʻa

...not as bad as calling a Mahi Mahi a Mahu Mahu I guess... I've heard that also.

edit: not sure why the forum is inserting the asterisks... they don't belong there. Mods?
