*Just thought I would share a pic I captured from my recent livestock addition.

Here's my Huma saying hello to my new addition.

    And another pic.

Now I know your thinking, "how is this possible?"

but this guy would rather have this:

I must have the only vegetarian humahuma trigger ;D

*No livestock were harmed in the making of these pics. The huma has been peacefully living with cleaner shrimp for over 16months.

16months ago when I started this hobby I didn't know this wasnt supposed to happen. Only when I told my LFS about it did I realize how uncommon this was. I guess there's exceptions to every rule.

That is pretty cool.I'd love to be able to house a humu, one of my favorite fish.

I really only had a few chances at these pics. The trigger only approached the shrimp about 4 times. Two of the times I was able to capture it with a pic. After that the shrimp never got any attention from the trigger.

The shrimp you see in the pic is the smallest of the three I have living with the huma in my 120gallon mixed reef tank.

Every fish certainly has it's own personality, the thing i have found is that the "rules" can be broken. But they are usually statistics for a reason. I have also found, that just when you think everything is good or safe, give the fish/invert time to grow. and watch the personality change....

Everyday I wait for the inevitable to happen. I know it's going to some day, but it is great while it's lasting.

However, long ago I thought since it didn't eat my cleaner shrimp I can just go ahead and purchase a bloodred shrimp. I was very new to the hobby and really wanted one. BUT...that idea didn't go so well. The huma had a more expensive meal than I did that night.
