Hurricane Sandy and power outages

With Hurricane Sandy making her way up the north east coast, likely a lot of us will be without power for the few days. If we do loose power for days, any suggestions on what we can do with our tanks?

When attempting to find a battery powered air pump I had no luck at my lfs and petsmart as they were both sold out,but one lfs employee did have a good idea to try looking at a bait shop as alot of fishermen use them to keep bait alive.I have no bait shops nearby so I did a water change and prepared enough water for another if I need it.I also have enough ro/di in jugs should I need more.Hoping for the best....lights are flickering as I type this!

 

Hope you make it out ok. You can also take a gallon jug and pull water out and pour it back in to break the surface tension and help add o2 back into the water.

 

Thanks Thatgrimguy for the responces! Luckily I didn't need your advice as the storm did not hit VT like it said it would. Hope everybody in NY and NJ are doing alright as they got hit the worst from this storm
