    Hi Alex

the good news is , if thats what it is then once conditions are stabilised the tips can regenerate and look good again ( been there with a Monti digi that was probably a little close to where I was at the time pouring diluted Carbonate. I realised what I did wrong and set up a drip system that takes allmost all night to add the same amount of fluid as I was adding in a few minutes, and within 2 weeks the tips are back to normal)

I hope you are right Steve, I dont really want to lose the colony. Another reefer suggested that I iodine dip the colony. They were having the same issue and it seemed to stop the process, what are you thoughts on this?

I have heard of using Iodine dips for treatment of certain infections
and as a preventive treatment for new coral introductions

no experience with using it for Ak burn, did a quick google and did find a number of instances where this was suggested , so it does seem a popular solution
but its not something I have needed (Mild case in my situation)

Iodine works the same way for coral as it does on our injuries. Kills bugs and removes dead tissue.

Yeah I know what you mean, tough call, maybe wait a couple of days if it doesn't show improvement then dip.
