Hydnophora?

    I received this frag from a fellow reefer a while back that told me it was Hydnophora coral. I trusted that it was but all the images I have seen of other people's Hydno has more miny tentacles versus just being fuzzy. Also, mine doesn't seem very aggressive as the Xenia grows right up next to it.

    It's a hydno, but I bet you could find someone who would tell you is a gonni lol

    The Gonni part went over my head :confused: but thank you for confirming that it's a Hydno.

    There have been a lot of Hydnophora ID's lately and there was some discussion on an ID that might have resembled an unusual Goniopora type. Both Hydnophora and Goniopora come in a lot of odd shapes.

    Out of that discussion I got this lovely little link, a gem for stony coral ID's.
