Do they have a stainless steel shaft protruding from the pump body after you remove the impeller?

    I can answer that.No...LOL
The new design seems to be the same exact method employed in the Nano Koralias. Were a steel shaft is imbedded in a rubber bushing. The shaft of the impeller is then slid over it.Thank Annie.;D I will be sure to take some good pics when mine arrives.

No. My old Koralia K4 series did but the Evolutions do not.

The rubber grommit came off one of my power heads and ended up in the sump, eventually sucked into my return pump nicley wedged between the impeller and the housing, causing pump to fail and the sump to flow over.

Thank God I was in and noticed the tank level dropping, I did ask for some replacement covers and they came, so all in all, not horrific customer services, the one thing i noticed is that the pumps dont tend to last very long before they cease up ? Am I doing something wrong ?

So, you're saying that in a situation such as a power out,
    your sump will overflow?
    Should never happen.
I can help you with that.

Sounds like you need to replumb your sump return so it has an air gap and cannot possibly overflow the sump. Its an easy no cost fix in most cases and the most foolproof, zero maintenance method of backflow prevention known to man.
