hydor koralia question

I have 3 in my tank .....with a gaurd/ director on the front. (One is for surface agitation). No problems aside of the day I came home from work to find my nem wrapped around it. Now Ive hidden them behind the rock where they blow out through the rock openings (which is also a great way to create different areas of high, medium and low flow for various corals)....nothing can get behind the rock wall other than the fish and clean up crew. My new nem is safe from it now.

I had a nem get eaten also. I have heard that you can take a piece of pantyhose or small plastic screen and make a guard. I have not attempted that though.

Is the problem with the suction it creates or is it where they can get in though the front?

I also have a small percula clown that Im worried about.

 

It was a foxface, about 3-4". the first time he was at his healthiest, but after that he was on his way out. he had the grill marks on his side for a day or too after it happened
