I just purchased two of the new koralia 1400's to replace my k4's.

Ill be hooking these up to my apex and having my apex control them like a wavemaker.

Marine depot has them for $46 each. also petstore.com with free shipping over $75.

I opted the 3 day priority shipping through marine depot so I can have em sooner :)

Ill write up a review for 3reef on these new hydor evo pumps that are supposed to be great from what ive read on the web.

The lack of cords in the tank options have their drawbacks as well.

I don't know many folks running CL's anymore. There is a lot of extra maintenance associated with CL's, in addition to extra costs from the power company as well.

I have a closed loop. Its been in operation 6.5 years and only gets cleaned once a year. It does use more power for the OR3500 pump and OM Squirt but the flow is great and its basically invisible.
I actually use both the closed loop and two Sicce Voyager 3's on a RKL wavemaker function as well as the OR3500 return, they all have their purposes.
