    The time has come when i require a couple of powerheads in my 185 litres, 50 gallon tank, i was thinking 2xhydor koralia 2's or would i get away with 2xhydor koralia 1's my tank dimensions are 100x40x50cm...

    They are great powerheads. I would go with the #2's. Just make certain that there is sufficient water circulation throughout the entire tank, most importantly NO dead spots.

    Are we talking about the new 12v koralia powerheads?
    If not, check them out, I think Marine Depot has them now.

    I recently bought two Hydor Koralia's a 1 and 2

    They work great in my 38 gallon tall reef tank.

    As for dead spots just a little behind the live rock, but I have 67 lbs in this tank towering to the top, so it's kinda expected.

    My advice check out

    Your not going to find a better deal...

    You won't be sorry - they totally rock, and have a great, varied flow pattern.

    I have a 55gal and I have 1 Koralia 3 and I love it. I've got a tunze and the Koralia beats it hands down. I'd love to have another 3. I think either 2-2's for yours or 2-3's(IMO) gotta have the flow!

    Wait for the 12v models. Especially if you have a Neptune controller
