    NO3 the past 7 months: around 5ppm

NO3 the day I got my skimmer: 5ppm

Today (10 days of run-time on the Slim Skim Nano): about 3ppm NO3.

Cool, good info. Overall how is the skimmer performing?

It's been great. I just dumped the cup out on Tuesday (the 1 weak mark) and it was about 1/2 - 3/4 full. After 3 days, I've noticed the skimmate is darker than what it was consuming previously; it's closer to the actual color of tea. I've got more bubbles in the cup too. I've not noticed any gunk in the neck of the skimmer, but I saw it had picked up some chunks which are on the inside wall of the cup - neck is still clean.

    Still running quiet.

Looking into this myself and have had trouble tuning old nano skimmers in the past. I am also a little concerned about not being able to achieve the optimal depth. I own a 29g BioCube and the back isn't very deep, even with the bioballs and false bottom removed. (currently i have a chunk of LR and a stone crab living back there)

Hydor suggests 11" water depth. That's about the height you will need. I am running about about 10.5", but I doing fine in my 10g sump.

I didn't do much to tune the skimmer. I actually opened the air valve all the way. It picks up lots of foam and skimmate.

How deep is the water in the back of the BioCube? I'll get a recent picture for you of how i have it running now.

Hmm...it's been a while since I've posted about this.

I tested my water parameters on Thursday and phosphates are undetectable in my tank water. Nitrates are 1-2ppm.
